A framed replica of Soho map from mid 17th century when starts the development of Soho village.
The postcard stand, making the central piece of the instalment, was designed by the Woodwork Department at the Institute of Arts. The woven threads with the colours of the Union Jack Flag wrapped around the stands symbolise the enticement of the “migrant dream”.
The retrospective texts displayed on the walls as sheets is typed in stencil shorthand. It gives the project a certain political nuance revealing the viewpoint of the "immigrant from Easter Europe".
The framed prints on the walls form another juxtaposition showing the touristy and more glamorous side of London.
For the scrapbook showing the original mobile from the time period on which I've based my rational as well mixed with inspirational quotes from Social Media.
